Together, We End Polio

With your help, we can end polio for good.

World Immunization Week

24-30 April

Spread Awareness. Get Vaccinated. Save Lives.

Our work on polio eradication is proof that vaccines save lives. 3 billion children have been vaccinated against polio and the cases of polio have been reduced by 99.9% since 1988. But we know the job is not done until every child is vaccinated, and polio is stopped for good. Help us share the message that #VaccinesWork.

A Conversation With Polio Survivor Ade Adepitan

Wednesday, 30 April | 10:00 Chicago time (UTC-5)

Join us as we close out World Immunization Week with a conversation between Darla Silva, chief program officer for UNICEF USA, and Ade Adepitan, a polio survivor, TV presenter, Paralympic medalist, journalist, and Team End Polio member. Ade will share his experiences of living with polio and why he supports the effort to eradicate polio worldwide.

Rise Together: A movement challenge only on Strava

The world has made huge strides against polio with cases down 99.9% over the last four decades. With renewed global attention and commitment, we can finally beat polio, but the last stretch is the toughest.

From 24 April – 24 May, Rise Together is inviting people to Strava to take part and contribute towards the collective goal of completing 40 million minutes of movement: for the 20 million people able to walk today that to efforts against polio and the 20 million health workers and volunteers dedicated to ending polio.

As with any challenge, we are stronger when we work together as a team.

I am from a generation who has witnessed the devastating effects of polio. When I discovered how close we were to eradicating polio, I was very motivated to be a part of this movement. It is so rare when you can accomplish something so spectacular.
